TEMPORARY Lead & NON Lead Watercraft Inspector & Decontaminator - Antero Reservoir

Temporary Position (9 months or less)

Pay: $20 - $21 per hour. Employment starts 04/25/2026 through 10/31/2026.

This posting is for both Lead and Non Lead Inspector positions.

• Perform boat inspection and decontamination activities according to state regulations and standard protocols at Antero Reservoir.
• Work independently or in pairs to inspect boats launching and leaving the reservoir, focusing on invasive species such as zebra/quagga mussels.
• Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species by distributing printed materials.
• Attend early/morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required.
• Receive on-the-job training.

• Perform boat inspection and decontamination activities at Antero Reservoir.
• Lead and train inspection staff, create schedules, and ensure shift coverage.
• Collect and verify accurate timekeeping records for payroll purposes.
• Collaborate with area work lead to resolve staff and customer issues.
• Recommend hiring/firing decisions to area work lead.
• Conduct monthly quality-control assessments of inspection station procedures.
• Maintain data entry accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species.
• Attend early/morning, evening, and weekend shifts as required.

• Valid driver license and clean driving record; must use State-owned vehicle.
• Good driving record and availability for weekends, early mornings, late evenings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent customer service experience.
• Reliable, timely and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently.

• High school diploma.
• Experience with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, or heavy equipment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Access.

• Availability for weekends, early mornings, late evenings.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer service experience desired.
• Reliable, timely and self-motivated.
• Ability to work independently.
