The earliest anticipated start date for this position is mid-July.
Starting pay for this part‑time position is between $19.16 - 21.07/hour.
New employees to the State will be paid biweekly. There are 26 biweekly pay periods in a year.
Typical schedule is 7 am – 3:30 pm work hours, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday. Schedule is subject to change depending on department needs.

About the Work UnitThe Region 5 Special Crews Team maintains the highway system, facilities, and equipment to as near original conditions as constructed utilizing available resources, personnel, equipment and material to ensure a safe roadway for the traveling public.
About the PositionAs the part-time General Labor I, you will perform a variety of cleaning activities required to assure an aesthetically pleasing and sanitized Shaw Creek Rest Area grounds and facility. You will also make repairs to the mechanical features of facilities to ensure smooth operation.
Responsibilities- Clean facilities and restrooms, restock restroom supplies, shampoo carpets, strip floors, wash windows and paint facility walls, doors and trims.
- Do light demolition and repair work, such as replacing stair treads, risers, and floor tile; patching walls, installing and remodeling office partitions; replacing ceiling tiles, caulking doors, windows, sinks and urinals, and replacing base boards.
- Perform light plumbing repairs, such as replacing filters and water lines.
- Maintain grounds and perform landscaping by cutting weeds, sweeping around buildings, sidewalks, trailers, emptying trash cans, mowing using riding lawn mowers and self‑propelled, and using weed eaters and edger.
- Maintain fence and gates, using power drill, hammer, cutter pliers, pulley chain, shovels, and front end loader.
- Plow snow from parking lot using front end loader, tractor or a 1 ton truck with an attached front snow plow and sander unit. Remove snow from all sidewalks, driveway, entrances with a snow blower and walk behind tractor.
- Monitor the parking garage for safety concerns, unwanted visitors and unauthorized vehicles.
- Load, unload, and set up new furniture. Repair desks, chairs, and tables as needed.
- Perform equipment maintenance, servicing and cleaning according to CDOT policies and procedures.
- Maintain current knowledge of and abide by all safety laws, regulations, policies, and procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Identify safety concerns and actively work toward creating a safer workplace; report concerns to supervisor.
- Complete required paperwork and maintain service records. Track and order supplies from the storeroom.
- Other job duties as assigned.
- Your part-time schedule will primarily be 7 am – 3:30 pm work hours, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday.
