Job Overview
Temporary position (9 months or less) – hourly pay $19.00–$20.00. Starts 27 April 2026, ends 31 October 2026.
PositionWatercraft Inspector & Decontaminator – Lead and General applicants. Please specify preferred level in supplemental questions.
Responsibilities- Inspect boats launching from Lake San Cristobal, ensuring compliance with state regulations and protocols.
- Decontaminate vessels to prevent spread of invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels.
- Provide public outreach on aquatic invasive species, distributing printed materials to lake visitors.
- Work independently or in pairs; early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
- Lead Inspectors will train staff, schedule shifts, maintain records, manage inventory, assist in hiring, troubleshoot equipment, and ensure accurate data entry.
- Reliable transportation; ability to work weekends, holidays, early morning and late evening hours.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated; capable of working independently.
- Preferred:
Experience with boats, trailers, power washers, small engines, or heavy equipment; excellent customer service skills.
