Full time Maintenance Coordinator to support 4 Denver area Community locations.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Coordinator, Community Corrections is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair and upkeep of the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds. Supervises and schedules work for maintenance staff and residents assigned to maintenance work projects. Responsible for tracking and timely completion of all work orders and noting deficiencies on daily inspections.

May also be designated the facility Fire/Safety Officer.

Essential Functions
  • Establish maintenance standards by developing, maintaining and/or following a schedule of periodic preventative maintenance for the equipment at the facility.
  • Review maintenance work order requests to diagnose problems and recommend cost‑effective and quality repairs for the operation of the facility.
  • Determine work assignments and schedules for maintenance workers. Participate in hiring, training, prepare written performance evaluations, resolve disputes or issues and take corrective or disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Perform routine inspections of the facility for regulatory compliance, safety, maintenance, completion of work orders and related issues. Direct corrective action for problems detected.
  • Inspect for items that could be used as contraband or weapons by residents. Provide secure storage and/or safe disposal of tools, supplies and equipment. Maintain a current tool inventory and oversee proper use of equipment.
  • Participate in planning, such as in‑house work plans for maintenance and repairs, and, if applicable, renovations and new construction. Review utility usage and determine methods to conserve utility resources. Confer with other department heads to coordinate maintenance activities or needs of individual departments.
  • Order and approve purchases for supplies, equipment, parts and other maintenance materials within the guidelines of the facility purchasing procedures.
  • Monitor and inspect maintenance work performed by staff, and projects accomplished by outside contractors, for compliance with building codes, blueprints, manuals and other applicable procedures or specifications to determine that workmanship and materials are in compliance with current building standards.
  • Monitor safety practices and the preparation and dissemination of safety and accident reports as required by policy. Take appropriate action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.
  • Read, comprehend, analyze and interpret legal and non‑legal documents, such as maintenance and construction contracts, technical procedures, governmental regulations, manuals for equipment, drawings and blueprints.
  • Domestic U. S. travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Four years of experience in general construction or plant/institutional maintenance.
  • Additional qualifying education or technical training in a maintenance or construction‑related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of building construction and the operation of building systems.
  • Experience with an Enterprise Asset Management system.
