Job Overview
Office Furniture Installer – Aims Community College’s Office Furniture Installer is responsible for the physical relocation, installation, and repair of furniture and other equipment within College spaces. The technician will move furniture, boxes, and equipment from one location to another, ensuring safety, functionality, and aesthetics across the campus.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble, install, and repair furniture such as desks, chairs, tables, and shelving units, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Physically move and rearrange furniture to optimize space utilization and support changing needs.
- Work closely with other departments and personnel to understand space requirements and ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Fill out work completion documentation and coordinate with Manager, Coordinator, or other staff for project management, design, procurement, and support.
- Assist in developing and executing move plans in coordination with IT, considering customer needs, ADA requirements, and department policies.
- Maintain accurate records of furniture inventory, including condition and location, and coordinate with procurement for replacements or additions.
- High School Diploma or GED plus one (1) year of experience in general labor or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- Pre‑employment post‑offer physical evaluation required.
- Must use a company vehicle for business travel; successful MVR and insurability under Aims insurance required.
- Safety certification for forklift (or ability to become certified within twelve (12) months of hire).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Team player with a cooperative work environment.
- Required documents:
Cover Letter, Resume, and Safety Certification for forklift (if not yet certified).
- Specialty experience in related trades such as furniture installation/reconfiguration, moves/relocations, carpentry, or construction.
- Knowledge of basic interior design and accessibility requirements.
- OSHA 10 safety certificate.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Minimum annual salary: $40,075.00
- Maximum annual salary: $43,281.00 (achievable with 5 years additional work experience or higher degrees)
