Maintenance Controller

As a Maintenance Controller (MCC), you'll manage and control maintenance operations on a shift basis to support safe, compliant, and reliable operations. You'll be the primary point of contact for aircraft out of service events and the current mechanical status of Frontier's fleet, coordinating across SOC, Maintenance, Materials, Technical Support, Engineering, and vendors to reduce downtime and protect the schedule.

The Maintenance Controller reports to Frontier's Senior Manager MCC / Maintenance Planning, Technical Services.

What you'll do at Frontier Airlines

  • Manage maintenance operations on a shift basis, maintaining situational awareness and positive operational control of out-of-service aircraft.
  • Serve as the primary contact for aircraft out of service events and communicate mechanical status across the operation.
  • Coordinate recovery efforts with Maintenance, Material Services, Technical Support, and Engineering to reduce downtime and schedule impact.
  • Authorize MEL/CDL deferrals and develop work scopes (including recommended troubleshooting steps and required materials).
  • Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel and support decisions on technical, operational, and procedural matters.
  • Advise SOC on routing requirements when work must be completed at a specific station.
  • Maintain detailed shift logs, turnover notes, and performance reporting (delays, cancellations, out-of-service, and critical/damage events).

What you'll bring to Frontier Airlines

  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (required)
  • Working knowledge of airline maintenance practices, FARs, and Frontier's General Maintenance Manual policies/procedures
  • Experience:
    • 5 years of Line Maintenance experience OR
    • 2 years C-Check experience AND 2 years avionics troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent Airbus systems knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to interface effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Flight Ops Management, flight crews, and Dispatch
  • Ability to plan, organize, and administer workloads to subordinates

  • Must attend and successfully complete Maintenance Training Required Inspection Item course
  • Preferred: FCC First Class Radio Telephone Certificate; prior maintenance supervisor experience; factory-approved Airbus A319/320 training

  • Directly in charge (121.378(b)) of all maintenance activities performed by contract maintenance personnel to ensure strict compliance with Frontiers General Maintenance Manual policies and procedures
