Work Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm (On-site)

JOB

SUMMARY

The Janitor, Day Porter is an on‑site, daytime custodian/janitor who maintains commercial property cleanliness and safety during business hours. The Day Porter will perform regular cleaning duties as needed to support the mission of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Replace non‑LED light bulbs when needed.
  • Perform painting as required.
  • Change HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) filters regularly.
  • Collect and deliver parts and tools to work areas.
  • Clean up job site/work area(s).
  • Provide event support, setup, and cleanup after each event.
  • Perform quality control checks throughout customer facilities.
  • Provide furniture services, assemble new furniture, move and/or rearrange furniture as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of knowledge/experience of industrial cleaning.

Other:

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management staff, and peers. Provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work with persons with disabling conditions.
  • Must have strong work ethic, be a self‑starter, problem‑solver, and team player.
  • Ability to understand and follow all Goodwill safety standards and guidelines, and to read, comprehend and follow Goodwill Employee Handbook, departmental manuals, and all numbered or supplemental policies.
  • Overtime, shift or travel requirement, occasional overtime; work varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures.
  • The incumbent will be required and must have the ability to drive for company business.

• Applicant requirements for driving and vehicle use:
Driver license minimum 21 years of age for non‑passenger transportation, 25–70 for all passenger transportation services, 25 for CDL. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check required. Must disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes within the last five (5) years. Must have valid Colorado State driver license and valid vehicle insurance for personal vehicle use. Company vehicle usage must meet all federal, state, and local laws governing vehicle operation.

BACKGROUND

REQUIREMENTS

The contractor shall screen all employees and is required to conduct a pre‑employment criminal background check on all employees prior to their assignment to CCD’s contract. Any falsification of application information or credentials or failure to make full disclosure of criminal history shall be grounds to remove and bar the contractor’s employee from any and all CCD’s facilities.

Requirements include comprehensive background checks covering the past seven (7) years with the following focuses:

  • National Sex Offender Registry Search
  • Felony and Misdemeanor Charges (Federal, State and Local)
  • CP National Criminal File PLUS
  • Statewide Criminal

The contractor attests that all contracted employees have completed background checks, that the checks have been verified and reviewed as acceptable for work on CCD property.
