Onsite Custodial Supervisor (Contingent Upon Award) – Golden, CO

Summary: The Onsite Custodial Supervisor will oversee and coordinate custodial, waste management, and pest control activities for two buildings in Golden, CO, including the supervision of custodial personnel. One building is a new Federal building. Prior to occupancy, the position will participate in new building start‑up and commissioning activities. The position works closely with the Onsite Project Manager and Chief Engineer/O&M Onsite Supervisor to provide leadership, customer service, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel performing custodial, waste management, and pest control tasks.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on all matters pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
  • Ensure work is completed on schedule and in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Assist the Project Management (PM) in:
    • Conducting new building start‑up and commissioning activities in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Setting schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for shifts and assignments.
    • Monitoring work (QC inspections) and taking corrective action as necessary.
    • Providing feedback in evaluation of other employees.
    • Advising the PM of workforce changes that may affect completion of assigned work.
    • Ensuring that completed work documentation is accurate and submitted to the PM in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Train new employees in proper and safe custodial procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience and Education
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience within the past five (5) years managing custodial services in buildings of similar size (209,000 gross sq.ft.), complexity (office space, laboratories, LEED, etc.), and characteristics (multiple stories, modern technology, etc.).
  • Experience with new building startup and commissioning is highly desirable.
  • Experience leading, supervising, and organizing staff, including scheduling work shifts, training employees, and managing applicable HR functions.
  • Knowledge, skills, and ability to provide custodial services.
  • Experience applying quality and safety standards and policies and ensuring compliance.
  • Experience with general administrative duties.
  • Ability to earn and maintain a current Advanced Custodial Technician Certification (CMI et al.) or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Shall be fully conversant in English.
Communication Skills

Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, managers, and staff members, write and/or produce reports, and present information effectively to managers, staff, and customers.

Reasoning Ability

Must be able to read and interpret various information to ensure procedures are followed.

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 75 pounds and must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Work environment will require on‑call responsibilities. The employee may be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold, heat, and inclement weather. The work may require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, and/or gloves.
