Position Summary
This position independently performs a range of tasks related to maintaining building interiors and furnishings in Capitol Complex managed facilities, including keeping exterior walkways clear of debris and snow. The day shift is 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The posting may fill more than one vacancy and is open only to residents of Colorado.
Responsibilities- Custodian/Housekeeping Services – office and common area cleaning including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, multi‑surface cleaning, brass cleaning and polishing, hard‑surface floor cleaning and recycling; restroom cleaning including trash removal, fixture maintenance, stocking supplies, sweeping and mopping.
- Emergency response and other duties as assigned – including snow removal, emergency response and assistance such as flooded floor mitigation, inventory counts, meetings, and assisting other trades with various projects.
At least six (6) months of relevant experience in an occupation related to professional, commercial custodian work.
Preferred Qualifications- Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position.
- A pre‑employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process.
- Must be able to stand for at least 8 hours per day.
- Physical demands: able to exert force to move up to 100 pounds occasionally, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
The comparative analysis process may consist of a structured application review and a structured interview. Applicants who are removed from consideration may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board and/or request a review by the State Personnel Director. Appeals must be submitted in writing within ten (10) days of receipt of the notice.
