Assistant Chief Engineer

Marriott International, Inc. seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to support all facilities and maintenance operations in a full-service hotel environment. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will help lead a team in maintaining building systems, guestrooms, and public areas, ensuring safety, reliability, and brand standards. Responsibilities include supervising repairs, scheduling preventive maintenance, coordinating vendors, managing work orders, and assisting with budgets and capital projects.

You will promote a guest-focused, people-first culture while ensuring compliance with codes and sustainability initiatives in a fast-paced, hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Engineer in daily operation of hotel engineering department
• Supervise and train maintenance staff on systems and safety procedures
• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance on guestrooms and building systems
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues
• Manage work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Coordinate and oversee external vendors and contractors
• Support budgeting, inventory control, and capital project planning
• Ensure compliance with local codes, brand standards, and safety regulations
• Respond to guest and operational emergencies promptly
• Promote a people-first, service-oriented, and inclusive workplace culture
