Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician position is an entry-level maintenance position. The successful applicant will receive training to perform a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, gleet and grounds.
Essential Job Duties
Operational (90%)
Operation of all maintenance equipment.
Inspection and maintenance of grounds, playground equipment, parking lot fences and exterior building structures to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety practices, policies and procedures.
Exercise discretion in identifying projects requiring the services of a higher skilled crafts person.
Assist in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as needed.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
Basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs.
Perform snow removal and ice mitigation as needed.
Change filters on heating, ventilating and air conditioning units.
Perform building fire safety systems inspections.
Move and assist in moving furniture and equipment.
Maintain clean, safe and orderly work sites.
Follow oral and/or written instructions.
Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
Perform facility inspections and maintain work logs.
Inspect and perform minor servicing on fleet.
Required to work overtime on an emergency basis.
Subject to after-hours recall.
Employee will be required to operate vehicles.
Administrative (5%)
Coordination and scheduling of maintenance projects with supervisor.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three to five years of maintenance technician experience
Valid Colorado driver's license.
Driver's license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical condition to enable walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling; stamina to be on feet and active for full workdays; ability to speak or exchange information in an audible manner.

- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to communicate well with children/youth, adults and staff
- Two years of college education, or high school diploma plus one year of experience in human services field.
