This position is responsible for performing routine custodial duties at the PERA owned facilities and grounds. All activities are to be completed according to PERAs safety and quality standards.
IDEAL CANDIDATEOur ideal candidate will be reliable, courteous, energetic and friendly with an ability to take direction or work independently. Custodial/Janitorial experience preferred. Must be able to safely work with standard janitorial chemicals and equipment. The ideal candidate will be able to set up/take down tables and chairs, and assist others with preparing for meetings and events. Efficient and well organized personal work habits are needed to ensure all tasks are completed.
Must be willing to take direction from co-workers and perform other duties as assigned in a professional manner while presenting a positive public image.
- Performs routine custodial duties, organizes and prioritizes cleaning projects
- Cleans and supplies restrooms and breakrooms
- Cleans interior/exterior glass, floors, walls and fixtures
- Maintains sidewalks and parking areas, removing trash and debris
- Safely utilizes appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals, and equipment
- Notifies management of needed repairs as observed or reported
- Deliver and pickup packages throughout the building as requested
- Responsible for receiving large publication deliveries and stocking in proper locations
- Moves office furniture, equipment, and supplies, both manually and using material handling equipment
- Prepares facilities for events and meetings, including setup and breakdown
- Responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner
- Responds to emergency situations, requesting additional assistance as needed
- Complies with division and company policies, procedures, and safety programs
- Participates in training and educational opportunities for ongoing professional development
- Maintains regular and prompt attendance in the workplace
- Carries out other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or equivalent required, combination of education and progressive work experience
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning chemicals and methods
- Ability to read and comprehend cleaning product labels and instructions
- Effective interpersonal communication skills with knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Ability to perform duties in a safe and effective manner
- Detail oriented
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to quality of service
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer work order systems

- Standard office environment with frequent telephone communication, computer operation, and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy and printer machine
- Routinely transport, move, install or remove materials up to, and in excess of, 50 pounds, using material handling equipment and team move as needed
- Traverse position self, ascend/descend, and reach for long periods of time on a routine basis
- Exposed to environments of noise, unpleasant odors, inclement weather, dust, and fumes or emissions from automobiles, and/or cleaning agents and solvents
- Occasional work outside of standard business hours and on weekends
- Occasional travel by car or plane as necessary for business purposes
- All employees are expected to present themselves in a professional manner in alignment with the financial services industry
- Ability to operate standard PC equipment
- Ability to manage frequent deadlines and tight schedules
