The Facilities Specialist IV (Operations Lead) serves as the on-site operational lead responsible for coordinating and directing day-to-day facilities operations at the History Colorado Center. This position ensures the effective execution of maintenance and cleaning activities, work order management, and staff deployment in real time to support safe, functional, and responsive building operations. Operating within established policies, procedures, and strategic direction set by the Deputy Director of Facilities and Senior Director of Facilities and Capital Planning, this role exercises independent judgment in prioritizing work, allocating resources, and responding to emergent operational needs.

This position provides operational leadership during assigned shifts and plays a critical role in maintaining continuity of services, particularly during evenings, weekends, and periods of limited supervisory presence. The Facilities Division is responsible for the management, maintenance, preservation, and strategic planning of all History Colorado facilities and infrastructure. This includes statewide building operations, capital construction, controlled maintenance, deferred maintenance planning, and long-range facility investment.
