A successful candidate will be reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable performing a variety of basic maintenance and repair tasks. They are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and able to work independently while managing their time effectively. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to identify and report facility issues are essential, along with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
ADay in the Life:
You come to work daily focused on keeping the building clean, safe, and fully functional. When you arrive, you check in with the operations team to review scheduled tasks and any maintenance requests that need attention. Your work may include basic repairs such as fixing door hardware, replacing light bulbs, patching walls, performing minor plumbing or electrical tasks, and addressing general wear and tear throughout the facility.
You conduct walkthroughs to identify potential issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs and take care of them promptly. Throughout your shift, you help maintain the interior & exterior spaces by performing routine upkeep as needed. You document completed work, communicate any larger repair needs, and report equipment issues that require outside vendors or additional resources. Safety is always a priority, and you follow established procedures to ensure the facility remains compliant and welcoming.
At the end of your shift, you leave knowing you’ve made a visible impact for the staff & dogs—helping create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for everyone.
- Repairs including Floors, walls, rotted wood, ceilings, doors,drywall and siding.
- Maintenance including Doors, Chain link fencing and gates, gutter cleaning,basicplumbingand electrical skills.
- Carpentry:
Molding, Trim, Shelving, Railings - Painting and trim worka must
- HVAC knowledge a plus
- Odd Jobs:
Pressure Washing, Weatherproofing,assembly, and more - Team oriented
- Excellent time management skills
- Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Must be able to lift 80 lbs. or more, bend, squat and kneel
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders/Ability to work at heights
- Able to move within tight spaces
- Must be able to walk and stand forlong periodsof time
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation
- Tools to perform and complete different typesof projects.
- Must be able to multitask and bedetail oriented.
- Must be able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling,pushing,and grasping.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Ability to take direction well and apply it independently
- Ability to work in temperature extremes, work outside, or in distracting work environments such as loud noise/sound
