The Site Facilities & EH&S Manager is an on-site position responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, reliable, and well-maintained manufacturing environment. This role provides overall leadership for site EH&S programs, facility operations, and equipment maintenance, with responsibility for regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance, facility infrastructure, contractor management, and continuous improvement. The Site Facilities & EH&S Manager will serve as a visible and hands‑on leader throughout the facility, partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and Finance to proactively identify risks, resolve issues, minimize operational disruptions, and support the long‑term needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities Environmental, Health & Safety- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and company requirements.
- Maintain required permits, regulatory filings, inspection records, documentation, and compliance programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain practical EH&S policies, procedures, programs, and employee training.
- Conduct routine workplace safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits and ensure identified hazards are addressed promptly.
- Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, near misses, environmental events, and other safety concerns; identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Track and analyze EH&S metrics and communicate trends, risks, and priorities to site leadership.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to reinforce safe work practices and strengthen employee accountability for workplace safety.
- Manage hazardous materials, chemical inventories, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), waste streams, and spill‑prevention and response requirements.
- Maintain emergency preparedness and response plans and coordinate required drills and training.
- Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory inspections, insurance reviews, environmental assessments, and EH&S audits.
- Promote a proactive safety culture that encourages employee participation, hazard identification, and timely reporting of safety concerns.
- Lead the preventive and corrective maintenance program for production equipment and facility systems.
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules based on equipment condition, operational risk, manufacturer recommendations, and business requirements.
- Ensure scheduled maintenance activities are completed, documented, and appropriately tracked.
- Prioritize maintenance activities based on employee safety, production impact, product quality, operational risk, and urgency.
- Coordinate timely response to equipment failures and communicate recovery plans and expected timing to affected stakeholders.
- Investigate recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate equipment histories, maintenance records, work orders, spare‑parts requirements, and related documentation.
- Identify critical spare parts and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support equipment reliability.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations to minimize production disruption.
- Manage outside maintenance contractors and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Develop longer‑term equipment repair, replacement, and reliability improvement plans.
- Monitor and report key maintenance metrics, including downtime, recurring failures, preventive maintenance completion, and maintenance spending.
- Maintain the overall condition, safety, functionality, security, and appearance of the site.
- Oversee building systems including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, alarms, security, compressed air, and other facility infrastructure.
- Ensure required building, fire protection, sprinkler, alarm, and equipment inspections are completed and documented.
- Manage facility repairs, janitorial services, grounds maintenance, snow removal, utilities, waste services, and other site services.
