Title: Operations Engineer Chief, Class 1-3

Position Type: OPER

Salary: $21.98/hour

Required: Two years of custodial experience.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of a computer and Microsoft Office tools.
• Working knowledge of good housekeeping practices and procedures; ability to operate cleaning equipment.
• Working knowledge of broiler room/geothermal system operations and related equipment.
• Leadership skills.
• Ability to present a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment and promote spirit of cooperation with others.
• Competency working in a culturally diverse environment.

• Serve as lead custodial staff and coordinate staff schedule.
• Maintain inventories and supplies.
• Conduct basic building safety inspections.
• Provide maintenance and repair to equipment and building facilities.
• Perform custodial duties.
• Direct custodial employees and assure performance of cleaning assignments, building maintenance, and safety requirements.
• Assure cleanliness inside and outside the building.
• Order and manage sufficient supplies.
• Assist custodial specialist with preventive maintenance objectives.
• Assist in preparation of work schedules.
• Perform tasks assigned by building administration to meet unique needs.
• Assist director of custodial services in annual performance evaluation of subordinate employees.
• Communicate with operations staff to ensure proper heating, ventilation and maintenance.
• Provide leadership to secure facility each night.
• Carry out all policies and procedures set forth for building personnel in operations.
• Attend work on prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain harmonious relationships with the public, students, and employees.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Constant standing and walking. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 10 ft. Frequent use of telephone and computer.

Frequent inside, outside, and exposure to extremes of temperature/humidity.
