Job Title:
Furniture Installer
As a Furniture Installer, you will be responsible for assembling and installing commercial furniture, including desks, chairs, cabinets, panels, and modular systems, according to standards and client requirements. You will also load and unload trucks safely, install specialty items such as artwork and window coverings, and support relocation activities. Performing quality checks to ensure defect‑free, stable, and specification‑aligned items is crucial.
Effective communication with project leadership and maintaining clean work spaces are also key responsibilities.
- Assemble and install commercial furniture including desks, chairs, cabinets, panels, and modular systems.
- Load and unload trucks safely using blankets, padding, and securement methods to prevent damage.
- Install specialty items such as artwork, window coverings, and additional fixtures.
- Support relocation activities by moving boxes, filing cabinets, and furniture components.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all assembled items are defect‑free and meet specifications.
- Communicate with project leadership, providing updates and coordinating tasks.
- Prepare and maintain clean, safe work spaces before, during, and after installation.
- Disassemble and relocate furniture by breaking down components and transporting them.
- Operate hand tools for assembly, adjustments, and field repairs.
- Commercial furniture assembly expertise with the ability to assemble desks, panels, chairs, cabinets, and modular components.
- Skilled in installation and relocation execution, including loading/unloading and securing furniture.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75% of the time to support multiple markets.
- Competent in operating hand tools for assembly, disassembly, adjustments, and field modifications.
- Physical stamina for regular lifting, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Professional communication skills for clear and respectful interaction with clients, leads, and team members.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean driving record.

- Team‑oriented mindset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently.
- Ability to kneel, bend, reach, push, and pull.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
