Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This hybrid role will work closely with finance leadership to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across accounting processes.

This opportunity is based in Des Plaines, Illinois with a hybrid work schedule.

• Manage daily accounting operations and general ledger activities
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting packages
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes
• Identify and implement process improvements within accounting workflows
• Partner with cross‑functional departments on financial initiatives and reporting needs
• Assist with ERP system enhancements and reporting optimization

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
• CPA preferred but not required
