Addison Group is partnering with a publicly traded, global organization to identify a Segment Assistant Controller to join its corporate accounting team. This is a high-impact leadership role within a well-established company where accounting plays a critical role in driving business performance.

The organization offers a collaborative, team-oriented environment with strong executive visibility and a focus on continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader to step into a strategic, hands-on role within a complex, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own accounting policies and technical documentation, including white papers and methodologies
  • Standardize accounting processes across multiple divisions and locations
  • Lead revenue recognition (POC) and review complex contracts to ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies to ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and applicable regulations
  • Lead implementation of new accounting standards and drive cross-functional alignment
  • Oversee complex accounting areas including revenue recognition, inventory/standard costing, leases, and goodwill
  • Manage the monthly close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Review balance sheet and income statement activity, identifying key drivers and areas for improvement
  • Partner with operational leadership to provide insights that support business strategy and performance
  • Lead internal and external audit processes, including issue identification and remediation
  • Ensure SOX compliance and consistent application of accounting policies
  • Drive process improvements and support initiatives related to shared services optimization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (advanced degree a plus)
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
  • Public accounting background and/or experience within a large, complex organization
  • Experience with revenue recognition (POC), inventory, and lease accounting required
  • Strong technical accounting expertise (US GAAP)
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with large ERP systems and reporting tools preferred
  • Competitive base salary in the $180K – $200K range
