Ozfield is a Des Plaines CPA practice and an insurance agency. This seat is on the tax and accounting side. You will help the tax team get work ready: source documents, bookkeeping, Excel work papers, and follow-up. A CPA reviews the work. This is not a licensed-signer role and not a staff accountant seat.
What you will do- Pull source documents, organizers, bank and credit-card activity, and prior-year files
- Bookkeeping in Quick Books: bills, invoices, bank feeds, and monthly reconciliations
- Build and clean Excel work papers (reconciliations, tie-outs, simple pivots)
- Help with sales tax, payroll, 1099s, and other periodic filings under review
- Track missing documents and follow up with clients by phone and email
- Keep paper and digital files complete and ready for review
- Support busy season volume without cutting corners on detail
- Comfortable with numbers and messy source documents
- Microsoft Excel you can actually use (formulas, filters, basic pivots)
- Quick Books experience (Desktop or Online). You have closed a bank rec.
- Clear English, spoken and written
- Turkish is a plus. A majority of our clients speak Turkish. Everyone also speaks English.
- Tax prep or small-business bookkeeping is a plus
- Full-time, in office at 2800 S River Rd, Suite 500, Des Plaines, IL 60018
- Busy season hours as needed
- Pay: $40,000-$48,000 per year, depending on experience
- Group health after 90 days
