Gotham Lighting is seeking a Director of Product Management to lead our architectural downlighting portfolio with vision, creativity, and strategic clarity. This leader drives multi‑year product direction, inspires bold thinking, and blends strong business acumen with extensive experience in lighting design, architecture, and leading architectural brands. If you’re energized by reimagining what downlighting can be and motivated to push beyond the industry status quo, this role offers meaningful impact at scale.
KeyTasks & Responsibilities (What You’ll Lead)
- Drive the strategy, positioning, and roadmap for a multi category architectural downlighting portfolio.
- Shape the innovation pipeline, uncovering new possibilities in performance, aesthetics, and application.
- Own portfolio level decisions (investment, prioritization, lifecycle strategy).
- Lead and develop product managers, to build the next generation of talent.
- Unite and inspire engineering, sourcing, operations, CX, marketing, and sales around shared goals and outcomes.
- Foster a culture of experimentation, curiosity, and design driven thinking.
- Influence P&L portfolio, vitality mix, margin strategy, and productivity improvements.
- Represent Gotham externally with customers, agents, designers, and industry influencers.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
- 10+ years in product management or architectural engineering within lighting or adjacent industries.
- Proven track record leading teams and managing complex, multi‑category portfolios.
- Experience in the design and application of lighting as a creative medium, with a strong appreciation for artistic expression and visual impact.
- Entrepreneurial, curious, and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Willing to take calculated risks and challenge industry norms and assumptions.
- Strong analytical thinking, strategic planning, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Ability to merge technical rigor, market insight, and design‑driven creativity into compelling product direction.
- Skillful in roadmap creation, business case development, and go‑to‑market strategy.
- Inspires collaboration across disciplines and communicates a clear, compelling vision.
- Experienced in developing and empowering high‑performing teams.
- Strong presence with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Ability to mentor and inspire developmental growth for the Team and Partners
- Travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
