Assistant Project Manager - Healthcare Construction
Location: Chicago, IL
A well-established, highly respected General Contractor with a strong presence in the Chicago market is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support healthcare construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day project management activities on healthcare projects
- Support subcontractor coordination, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Track project costs, budgets, and buyout activities
- Assist with project schedules and milestone tracking
- Maintain project documentation and reporting
- Coordinate with field teams, design professionals, and ownership groups
- Support closeout documentation and turnover processes
- 2+ years of experience in commercial construction (healthcare experience preferred)
- Experience working for a General Contractor strongly preferred
- Understanding of construction documents, contracts, and project controls
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Work for a well-known, financially stable GC with a strong healthcare portfolio
- Exposure to complex, high-profile healthcare projects
- Clear growth path into a Project Manager role
