Superintendent
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Superintendent to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will oversee the management of construction projects, with responsibilities tailored to their location and experience due to our extensive backlog of work. The role involves supporting multiple projects, ensuring high standards of safety and quality, and acting as a key point of contact for various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate highly effective Superintendent tasks including due diligence, design review, value engineering, defining subcontract scopes, negotiating contracts, establishing and controlling schedules, and reviewing and approving scope changes.
- Support multiple projects with a team of construction personnel on jobs ranging from $250k to $10 million.
- Accurately estimate project costs and author project scopes for potential bidders.
- Coordinate field activities between ownership and the office.
- Maintain general conditions and job costing.
- Manage the entire project, including scheduling, purchasing, quality, and safety.
- Participate in pre-construction services, including estimating and value engineering.
- Negotiate financial disputes and change orders with owners.
- Act as the point of contact for project management staff, architects, subcontractors, owners, engineers, and more.
- Document and negotiate changes affecting project completion or contract costs with subcontractors and owners.
- Coordinate with other subcontractors and parties on-site.
- Plan all site activities by all sub-trades.
- Ensure projects align with high standards of safety and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working on federal projects.
- Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
- Ability to support multiple projects to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong understanding of construction law.
- Adherence to company policies and regulations.
- Customer service oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (not required).
- OSHA 30-hour training (not required).

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Plaines, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $55.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
