Description: Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking substitute teachers on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications: 1. Completion of a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university. 2. A completed Criminal Background Investigation.
3. Active Illinois teacher licensure preferred.

Working Conditions: District 62 has approximately 4800 students in grades preK-8 in 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools and 1 year-around, K-8 school. This assignment could be located at any school in the district during the school year. As a special circumstance, Iroquois Community School (ICS) is a year-around, K-8 school. Therefore, substitute teachers will occasionally be needed during the summer term.

In addition, special summer programs for remediation or enrichment will also need substitutes.

Compensation Information:
District 62 substitute teachers earn $165 per day if they hold an Illinois PEL and $155 per day if the hold a substitute license. Annual bonuses are given based on number of days worked. This position does not incude benefits.

Selection Procedure: All applications will be reviewed by administrators. Qualified applicants will be assigned to a pool of substitute teacher who are available and recommended for further assignment.
