Job Description & How to Apply Below

Oakton College is seeking adjunct instructors for chemistry courses to provide part-time teaching support across its campuses.

Job Description

Part‑time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalent (LHE) basis. For most courses the LHE is equal to a credit hour; for others it represents additional work such as grading or laboratory instruction. 2025‑26 rates are $1221/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1294/LHE for faculty with doctorates. Faculty can advance one salary step after successfully teaching two fall or spring semesters with at least three LHEs each.

Assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment, and once a course starts the faculty member is expected to complete the course. Courses are assigned to faculty who are fully qualified by education, training, and experience, and who have a history of successful performance at Oakton.
