Community Consolidated School District 62 in Des Plaines, Illinois is seeking a 1:1 Para educator for the  school year at Iroquois Community School. Iroquois Community School is a school of choice that CCSD 62 offers for those families who are interested in an alternative school calendar; the Iroquois school year starts in July and incorporates longer breaks in the Fall, Winter and Spring.

This is a full time, 10 month (school year), 180-day position. Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Paraprofessional license from the Illinois State Board of

This position works directly with one student.

District 62 has approximately 4,800 students in grades preK-8 in 8 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 early learning center, and 1 year-round, K-8 school.

The position starting salary is $19.10 per hour including fully paid individual health benefits. Those with 3 years of experience as a para educator or who hold a Bachelors degree will have a starting salary of $20.10 per hour. This position is part of the Des Plaines Educational Support Personnel Association and salaries are part of the collective bargaining agreement. Salary information can be found here:
