College Lecturer, Online Teaching, Faculty, University Professor
Part‑time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalents (LHE) basis. For most courses, the LHE equals the credit hour. Where additional work is required (e.g., grading in Composition or lab sections), the LHE is higher than the credit hour. All part‑time faculty begin at the base pay rates regardless of prior experience. For the 2025‑26 academic year, rates are $1,221/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1,294/LHE for faculty with doctorates.
Faculty advance one step after successful completion of two fall and spring semesters in which they teach 3+ LHEs each semester. Faculty are hired on a semester‑by‑semester basis, and assignments are conditioned on sufficient enrollment; once a course starts the faculty member is expected to complete it.
