NORESCO develops and delivers upgrades to utility client facilities that are intended to save operating costs or increase operating revenue. Upgrades can take many forms, delivered in a Progressive Design‑Build environment with long‑term operating performance guarantees. We can also provide long‑term operations and maintenance for our clients.

Our water/wastewater engineers bring specialized skills and experience to water and wastewater treatment plants and distribution and collection systems. NORESCO is product and technology agnostic and will upgrade in any area of the water or wastewater realm, including pumping, aeration, controls, digestion, biosolids drying, renewable natural gas, and cogeneration.

This individual will be responsible for conceptual development and design of these upgrades. The engineer will lead and manage teams of in‑house staff and consulting engineers, manage the design schedule and budget, oversee customer engineering deliverables, provide QA/QC of documents, run technical customer meetings, and serve as the primary technical customer interface on large water/wastewater upgrade projects.

The position is a senior‑level role reporting to the Senior Manager, Water/Wastewater Engineering. Project managers engage with multiple projects from opportunity identification and sales support, through initial concept, project development, construction, commissioning, performance testing, and into operations and monitoring of long‑term key performance indicators. The role also supports NORESCO’s business development and implementation strategy.

• Overall responsibility for planning, directing, and monitoring all engineering aspects of water/wastewater projects from the concept stage through detailed design, construction, and commissioning in a collaborative Design/Build process leveraging NORESCO technical expertise with external engineering, vendor, and subcontractor partners and consultants.
• Manage and maintain the design schedule, design budget, project scope of work, and engineering deliverables.
• Track design deliverables, customer comments and approvals, ensure all project scope elements are accurately designed, documented, reviewed, and distributed to the project team for construction.
• Lead design review meetings and charrettes both internally and with the customer and their advisors.
• Lead engineering activities during project development including site investigations, data collection, conceptual design documents, pricing‑level design documents, and final design and permitting.
• Support project pricing effort in partnership with NORESCO construction; bid packages, subcontractor qualification, bid‑walks, third‑party consultants, bid reviews, value engineering, evaluation of life‑cycle and long‑term service agreements.
