Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Radio Frequency (RF) systems to support mission-critical IT and engineering programs. In this role, you will design, analyze, and integrate RF and mixed-signal hardware for secure communications, radar, and sensing applications. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, circuit and antenna design, simulation, prototyping, and lab/field testing. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare technical documentation, and ensure compliance with defense and industry standards while contributing to innovative, high-impact solutions for government and commercial customers.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF and mixed-signal circuits, subsystems, and architectures for communications, radar, and sensing applications
- Perform RF system modeling, simulation, and analysis to meet performance, reliability, and security requirements
- Support antenna selection, design, integration, and performance optimization for various platforms
- Build and test prototypes, conduct lab measurements, and support field testing and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with software, systems, and mechanical engineers to integrate RF hardware into complex systems
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements, design artifacts, and test reports
- Ensure designs meet government, defense, and industry standards and program-specific compliance requirements
- Participate in design reviews, peer reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering processes
- Support proposals, cost estimates, and technical presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Required Skills
- RF circuit design
- Antenna design and integration
- RF simulation and modeling (HFSS, CST, ADS, or similar)
- Mixed-signal and high-speed PCB design
- RF test and measurement using spectrum/network analyzers
- Signal integrity and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI)
- Requirements analysis and systems engineering
- Schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Or
- CAD)
- MATLAB or Python for data analysis and modeling
- Technical documentation and design reporting
