Join Our Team at Hu Friedy Group  – Innovating Excellence in Dental Instrument Manufacturing

Hu Friedy Group  is a leading manufacturer of dental instruments and infection prevention products. With more than 10,000 products hand‑crafted by highly skilled artisans, we are renowned for precision, performance, longevity, reliability, and quality. Our goal is to help dental professionals be the best in practice by providing world‑class products, value‑added services, clinical education, and community platforms that elevate clinician performance and safety.

We are looking for a hybrid role based in Des Plaines, IL, with the ability to work remotely 2–3 days per week.

About the Role

The Director, Digital Product Management is accountable for defining and driving Hu Friedy Group ’s digital product strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes across the customer and commercial journey. This leader ensures that digital products and platforms—such as web, eCommerce, customer lifecycle and engagement tooling, and select data‑enabled capabilities—deliver measurable impact that improves customer experience, enables commercial growth, and strengthens enterprise scale and reuse.

The Director operates in a matrix environment, partnering with Marketing and Commercial Excellence, Sales, Customer Care, Solutions Management, and Technology. They lead future product managers, establish product governance, and ensure investments yield adoption, value, and continuous improvement.

As both a hands‑on product leader and a people leader, this “digital athlete” personally owns critical products and decisions while building a scalable digital product management capability.

Ownership & Outcome Areas
  • Digital product vision and portfolio strategy aligned to strategic vector priorities and customer needs
  • Roadmaps and prioritization that balance customer value, commercial impact, risk, and capacity
  • Customer journey orchestration across digital and assisted touchpoints
  • Platform/product adoption and value realization using clear KPIs and performance routines
  • Cross‑functional alignment and decisioning (intake, governance, trade‑offs, escalation)
  • Product operating model maturity (ways of working, reusable capabilities, measurement)
Key Responsibilities
  • Set Digital Product Strategy & Roadmaps
  • Define and maintain a multi‑year product vision and roadmap across Hu Friedy Group ’s digital experience and commercial platforms.
  • Translate strategy into clear product outcomes, investment themes, and sequenced roadmaps that stakeholders understand and support.
  • Lead Customer‑Led Experience & Lifecycle Growth
    • Champion an outside‑in mindset, ensuring products reflect real customer needs and drive improved acquisition, engagement, conversion, and retention.
    • Partner with business leaders and strategic vector leads to map and improve end‑to‑end customer journeys across channels and regions.
  • Drive Digital Portfolio Prioritization & Value Delivery
    • Own prioritization frameworks and decisioning across the product portfolio, ensuring focus on highest‑value initiatives and reusable capabilities.
  • Partner to Deliver Scalable, Integrated Platforms
    • Serve as the primary product counterpart to Solution Delivery and Enterprise Technology—ensuring delivery is aligned to product intent, experience quality, and enterprise standards.
    • Promote integration, reuse, and simplification across the ecosystem (e.g., platform capabilities, APIs/integrations, data consistency).
  • Establish Product Governance & Stakeholder Alignment
    • Build operating rhythms for intake, prioritization, executive updates, and launch readiness.
    • Communicate clearly to executive audiences—bringing recommendations, trade‑offs, and decisions rather than status.
  • Build and Lead a High‑Performing Product Team
    • Lead, coach, and develop roles within the Digital Product Management team; set standards for product thinking, customer advocacy, and data‑driven decision‑making.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manager Partners & Vendors (as needed)
    • Lead strategic collaboration with agencies, system integrators, and platform vendors to ensure roadmap alignment and high‑quality outcomes.
