Safety Manager - Federal​/Government

General contractor focusing on government and federal work in the Midwest. We are hiring a Safety Manager with federal/government experience. Competitive base salary $90,000‑$130,000

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year.

• Develop, implement, and manage site safety and health programs in accordance with local, state, federal regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
• Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
• Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, identify causes, and take preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of safety‑related incidents and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
• Manage the safety equipment inventory, ensuring all equipment is in good condition and employees are trained to use it properly.
• Stay current with changes in safety regulations and industry practices, updating company policies and procedures accordingly.
• Represent the company in meetings and discussions with regulatory agencies and other external parties regarding safety matters.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager, SSHO, or similar role in the construction industry within federal/government projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards for construction.
• Excellent ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective safety measures.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in safety management software and other computer applications.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to travel to different project sites as required.
