General contractor focusing on government and federal work in the Midwest. We are hiring a Safety Manager with federal/government experience. Competitive base salary $90,000‑$130,000

Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year.

- Develop, implement, and manage site safety and health programs in accordance with local, state, federal regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.
- Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
- Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identify causes, and take preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records of safety‑related incidents and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure safety measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Manage the safety equipment inventory, ensuring all equipment is in good condition and employees are trained to use it properly.
- Stay current with changes in safety regulations and industry practices, updating company policies and procedures accordingly.
- Represent the company in meetings and discussions with regulatory agencies and other external parties regarding safety matters.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Manager, SSHO, or similar role in the construction industry within federal/government projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards for construction.
- Excellent ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective safety measures.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in safety management software and other computer applications.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to different project sites as required.
