Responsibilities- Produce high quality labels to meet the job specifications outlined on the label order and match customer standards.
- Input data including time and materials used into job management software.
- Read job orders and load jobs into the press; fill ink cans and pumps with prescribed inks.
- Start the press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
- Adjust printing impression as necessary and run down the approval strip.
- Cut a sample of the approval strip from the printed roll, inspect for imperfections, and make adjustments as necessary.
- Communicate job-specific information or changes to the supervisor in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Report any production or press issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Keep inventory usage accurate at all times.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required.
- Keep work areas clear and organized; maintain housekeeping standards.
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One year of previous experience operating a press in a printing environment, preferably a digital press.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret rulers, scales and other measurement devices.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently walk.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- May participate in vendor-sponsored training programs.
