We are currently recruiting for a Shipping & Receiving Operator to join our Pamco Label team in Des Plaines, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in logistics or manufacturing, looking to expand their career with a steadily growing organization. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail and excel with meeting deadlines.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 an hour

Responsibilities
  • Follow established operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming shipments with high attention to detail.
  • Ensure accuracy of raw materials and finished goods inventories at all times.
  • Stage materials in support of operations in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Verify accuracy of outbound shipments to customers and intra‑plant transfers.
  • Read production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to the production floor.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.
  • Mark materials with identifying information, open bales, crates and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Use computer workstations to enter records, compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drive a lift truck to transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Maintain all inventory records efficiently.
  • Keep work areas clear and organized; maintain housekeeping standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience working in shipping or receiving in either a logistics or manufacturing environment is preferred (experience in the printing or packaging industry is a huge plus).
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees of the organization.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance; loads over 50 pounds require the use of mechanical devices or other personnel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
