Requirements
  • Assess and monitor critically ill patients using sound nursing judgment and evidence-based practice
  • Provide advanced cardiac and critical care interventions consistent with BLS and ACLS protocols
  • Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage complex therapies with attention to safety
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Perform and document thorough patient assessments, including NIHSS when indicated
  • Complete required competency checklists and specialty exams to maintain high standards of care
  • Educate patients and families about diagnosis, procedures, and recovery in a compassionate manner
  • Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license (Illinois) with Nursys verification
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification and DCI/BVP as listed by the facility
  • Travel nurse documentation completed and compliant for long-term assignment
  • Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Prime Specialty and Core Competency exams and Prime Skills Checklist
  • Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (drug screen, TB testing, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, fit test, influenza vaccine as applicable)
  • Comfort and experience working night shift in a fast-paced critical care environment
