Team Leader- Inbound

Overview

It s more than a job. As a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations.

This role is onsite only at our facility in Des Plaines, IL. We have diverse and flexible shifts.

• Coordinate and supervise inbound logistics activities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipment of customer orders.
• Direct unloading of inbound shipments and orderly stacking of product.
• Picking and staging outbound shipments per the highest levels of quality and productivity.
• Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all product is properly counted.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and errors.
• Ensure the safe operation of all materials handling equipment.
• Ensure work schedules are correctly implemented, jobs are assigned effectively, and completed properly.
• Maintain product locator system and high levels of inventory accuracy.
• Optimize space utilization through warehouse consolidation and rotate product as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Assure inventory integrity and assist in conducting physical inventories.
• Adhere to Kuehne + Nagel s Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment Program policies and procedures.

• High School diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead position with effective employee supervision.
• Detail-oriented, customer-focused, excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Languages:
  
  English – ability to speak, read, write and interpret documents.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical and multi-tasking skills.
• Candidate must have Parts Technical Analyst (PTA) certification for Inbound function.
