Looking for Forklift Operator jobs in Des Plaines where your equipment skills keep warehouse operations moving? This opportunity lets you safely transport materials, support inventory movement, and help maintain efficient warehouse and distribution operations.
Education Requirements- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow warehouse procedures and safety guidelines.
- Basic math and inventory tracking skills preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Willingness to participate in workplace safety training.
- 1+ years of sit-down forklift operating experience required.
- Experience loading and unloading freight from trailers and trucks.
- Background working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Experience moving, staging, and organizing freight within warehouse locations.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices and material handling procedures.
- Previous experience in a cross-dock warehouse environment.
- Experience handling large, heavy, or big box freight shipments.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Ability to safely operate equipment for extended periods.
- Capability to work in varying warehouse conditions.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to move, stage, and store freight safely.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring shipment accuracy.
- Break down incoming freight shipments and sort materials by destination.
- Move products in and out of warehouse racking and staging areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
