Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Purpose and Impact
Amentum is seeking a dedicated detail‑oriented Range Maintenance Technician to support day‑to‑day repairs for all facilities under range operations in an O&M contract. The role requires a strong commitment to maintenance, safety and customer satisfaction.
Work ScheduleTypical support duties are Monday‑Friday from 06:30 to 15:30, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Essential Responsibilities- Promote and maintain a safe work environment, ensuring workplace safety remains the highest priority.
- Comply with all site‑specific policies, procedures, and operational standards, including EHS and QA requirements.
- Follow established safety range cleaning procedures and conduct safety reviews and walkthroughs of all operation areas.
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of ranges, range equipment and facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
- Assist with maintaining all live fire facilities and equipment (battery operated, pneumatic systems, and static steel).
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting system issues with the O&M utilities team and assist in developing testing concepts.
- Ensure all range equipment and consumable materials are stocked and on‑hand at each range location.
- Follow schedules and tasks directed by the Facilities Manager, and perform other duties as assigned.
Must safely lift and move up to 50 pounds, stand for 8–10 hours per shift, and perform tasks such as bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, twisting and carrying materials. Able to work outdoors in extreme hot and humid or cold weather, and maintain fitness for duty.
Minimum Requirements- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in range maintenance or a related field.
- 24‑hour HAZWOPER certification with annual 8‑hour refresher training.
- Knowledge and compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- Basic computer proficiency (online training platforms, time‑keeping systems, email).
- Valid state driver’s license and forklift certification.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Experience or certifications with heavy equipment (front‑end loader, skid‑steer, backhoe).
$31.00 – $35.00 per hour (hourly rate may vary based on responsibilities, experience, and market data).
