Now Hiring a Maintenance Generalist at the YMCA

The Maintenance Generalist will travel across the Association and help maintain all local YMCA Buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, in good repair and clean.

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
• 4 years of work and background in facility maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, Microsoft Office, Google suite, and a work order/purchase order system
• Experience operating and maintaining a large aquatic environment (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License required

• Act as a handyman for the facilities by performing routine maintenance, including repairs on the branches and equipment such as doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, and exercise equipment.
• Have the mechanical ability to complete maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, changing light bulbs, carpentry, painting, and custodial responsibilities.
• Store deliveries in their proper storage areas as they arrive.
• Landscaping and snow removal.
• Pool operation and maintenance such as cleaning, chemicals, and equipment management.
• Assist with maintenance, repair, and cleaning of exercise equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles as per weekly inspections, review driver logs, and maintain vehicle records.
• Supervise housekeeping and day porters.
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor.

• Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
• Ability to exert physically over long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and/or legs.
