Red Oak Management Co, Inc. is seeking dedicated, skilled individuals for the Residential Maintenance Tech position in Detroit, MI. We are hiring five full-time team members to support our affordable and residential housing communities throughout the city.

What You Will Do:

As a Residential Maintenance Tech, you will address maintenance requests in both occupied and vacant units, complete work orders, and prepare apartments for new residents. You will be responsible for ensuring that the property's appearance and operations meet company and legal standards. Working closely with the property manager, you will prioritize tasks and maintain an organized workspace. You will also coordinate with vendors when necessary to ensure comprehensive property upkeep.

Professionalism and respect will guide your interactions with residents and guests at all times.

THE TYPE OF RESIDENTIAL MAINTENANCE TECH WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Schedule: This position is full-time, with a standard schedule of 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday
. Employees will be dispatched directly from their homes to their assigned properties each day and are not required to report to a central office. While the role does require availability for occasional emergency calls, it does not follow a traditional on-call rotation.

Requirements:
  • Experience in residential maintenance or construction
  • Mechanical and electrical systems knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
  • Ability to work with both occupied and vacant units
  • Willingness to maintain property inside and out Capability to prioritize work and stay organized
  • Must have the ability to pass a background check.
Preferred:
  • Basic understanding of fair housing rules and regulations
  • Experience in affordable housing
