Floor Tech

Overview

Floor Technician responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and completing floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties in accordance with regulations.

• Perform essential duties safely and satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at risk behaviors in others and self.
• Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments; fill in during staff shortages (custodial, recycle, or maintenance).
• Maintain a clean work area and present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Take direction from supervision and communicate professionally with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers.
• Support shift lead in completing punch-list items; complete work assignments in a timely manner.
• Use proper personal protective equipment and operate motorized cleaning equipment safely.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors (tile, carpet, brick) and apply appropriate chemicals per procedure.
• Understand customer service and reporting systems; maintain daily upkeep of the assigned area.
• Report safety hazards as appropriate and respond to work instructions with minimal supervision.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  No education requirement. 6 months to 1 year experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  May require a valid driver’s license; complete safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment; understanding of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment; knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
