Surface Supervisor - (Maintenance Supervisor)

Maintenance Supervisor – Surface is responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team supporting surface operations. This role oversees equipment reliability, preventive maintenance programs, repair prioritization, safety compliance, and workforce leadership. The supervisor ensures maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with MSHA and company safety standards
.
- Plan, organize, and lead
mechanical maintenance activities
for surface operations. - Manage
preventive maintenance (PM) programs and equipment repair priorities
. - Direct field and shop repairs on critical production equipment.
- Support
major repair projects and technical improvements
. - Manage
spare parts inventory and requisitions
. - Ensure strict adherence to
MSHA, EHS, and company safety policies
. - Conduct regular
safety meetings and training with maintenance personnel
. - Coach, mentor, and supervise
maintenance technicians and mechanics. - Evaluate team performance and support corrective actions when required.
- Maintain strong communication and ensure compliance with facility procedures.
- 3+ years experience working with mining or heavy industrial equipment
such as conveyors, crushers, screens, or material handling systems. - 2+ years supervisory or lead maintenance experience
in an industrial environment. - Experience troubleshooting
mechanical and electrical equipment
. - Ability to read
blueprints, drawings, and equipment specifications
. - Experience working within
MSHA or similar safety-regulated environments
preferred. - Strong leadership, safety mindset, and hands-on problem-solving ability.
