Part Time Housekeeper

Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, a faith‑based nonprofit organization offering senior living services in Michigan, has a great opportunity to join our team as a Part Time Housekeeper at the Dr. Violet T Lewis Village in Detroit, Michigan. We invite you to help us create new possibilities for quality living for the seniors we serve.

• Clean and maintain all common areas, including corridors, lounges, reception areas, restrooms, storage areas, floors, offices, and the chapel.
• Clean and maintain resident rooms and units as assigned or vacated so health standards are met; tasks include emptying wastebaskets, dusting and polishing furniture, washing windows and blinds, moving furniture, replenishing bathroom items, washing and disinfecting bathroom and kitchen fixtures, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning rugs and carpets, keeping storage areas and carts stocked, and disinfecting equipment and supplies.
• Maintain adequate levels of supplies by reporting inventory to manager/lead for replenishment.
• Perform housekeeping for unit turns.
• Follow established policies and procedures, including Presbyterian Villages policies, safety policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

High School Graduate, General Education Degree (GED), or previous housekeeping experience.

No prior experience is required.

Must be able to operate a computer.

• Stand/Walk.
• Handling/Fingering.
• Reach Outward/Above Shoulder.
• Climb, Squat, Kneel, & Bend.
• Lift/Carry 20 lbs.; up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Push/Pull 25 lbs. or less; up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Vision (Near, Depth Perception).
• Sense of Smell.

The employee will work inside, but will have regular exposure to fumes and airborne particles, and may occasionally be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and noise. Care and alertness are required when working with machinery, equipment, and cleaning agents.
