Job Title
Field Service Engineer (Detroit, Michigan)
LocationGreat Lakes Region – Greater Detroit Metro Area (within a 4‑hour drive radius).
NoticeNOTE: You must be a U.S. Citizen (no work visas permitted). You will not be considered for this position if you reside outside the Michigan territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performs assigned planned maintenance, installation, repairs, adjustments, calibrations, and safety testing on imaging equipment including conventional X‑ray, ultrasound, CR, DR, and mammography.
- Performs incoming inspections, equipment quality control, testing, calibration, and image evaluation per manufacturer specifications and guidelines.
- Works closely with management, sales teams, and other service team members.
- Adheres to performance metrics (PM completion, call closure, parts returns, first‑call repair, escalation protocols, downtime, etc.).
- Maintains timely, accurate, thorough documentation through strong verbal and written communication, as required by management and policies.
- Willing to travel as backup to other areas on occasion.
- Valid driving license with satisfactory driving record.
- Successful background check and drug testing (pre‑ and post‑hire).
- Self‑driven, able to optimize performance without extensive supervision.
- Excellent verbal & written communication in a demanding, fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic technology or engineering (preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year experience in repair and maintenance of imaging equipment.
- Strong knowledge of radiology physics, digital technology, mechanics.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, radiation safety, and protection practices.
- Understanding of imaging performance standards and manufacturing practices.
- Electronics knowledge and basic troubleshooting.
- General knowledge of networked equipment.
- Strong oral, written, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Results oriented with excellent customer service.
- Hands‑on knowledge of VOM meters, radiation meters, hand tools, oscilloscopes, safety analyzers, imaging phantoms, power tools, HV probes, HV bleeders, test fixtures, and attenuation devices.
- Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds; frequently up to 40 pounds.
- Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Capable of driving for long periods while traveling.
- Capable of standing for extended periods.
