Custodial Services Supervisor

The Custodial Services Supervisor ensures general cleanliness of assigned sites, completes all inspection forms in a timely manner, and assists the site manager with day-to-day operations. Department:
Janitorial Services. Reports to the Director, Contracts.

Schedule:

11:00am–7:30pm, Monday–Friday, with some weekends.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise Janitor 1 workers and the Day Porter in performing custodial services as outlined in the Performance Work Statement
• Instruct staff in proper custodial procedures by demonstration and modeling, and assign tasks and schedules to accomplish all required contract work
• Prepare and maintain accurate administrative, direct labor, and quality control records
• Maintain quality of custodial services performed and keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe
• Oversee set-up of janitorial carts and equipment and maintain inventory as required
• Provide daily feedback to the Site Manager, and meet with Navigators to discuss personnel progress and performance
• Drive agency vans or vehicles as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required
• Two years of documented work history performing custodial services
• Demonstrated experience in custodial procedures, inventory control, quality control, and the use of janitorial chemicals and equipment
• Ability to work with a population with disabilities; experience supervising multiple custodial crews preferred
• Valid Michigan driver's license with a record meeting the agency insurer's safe driving standards
• Ability to pass a government security clearance, work evening and flexible hours, and push and lift up to 50 pounds

This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
