Limited-Hour Library Building Service Worker

The City of Dickinson is seeking a dependable Limited-Hour Library Building Service Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for library staff and visitors. This position supports daily library operations, programs, meetings, and special events.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces.
• Vacuum, mop, buff, and shampoo floors and carpets.
• Dust, clean windows and blinds, and maintain interior surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling and restock cleaning supplies.
• Perform basic facility tasks, such as replacing light bulbs.
• Assist with meeting and event setup, room arrangements, and occasional furniture moves.
• Lock and unlock the building and report security concerns.
• Clear snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and entryways.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, and pressure washers.
• Respond to emergency cleaning and facility needs as needed.
• Attend required safety training and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Up to one year of janitorial, custodial, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and safely perform the duties of the position.

Must be available to work mornings between 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The specific schedule will be based on library needs.
