The Permanent Substitute Teacher provides high-quality instruction and classroom management on a daily basis. This role requires the flexibility to transition between various subject areas (Math, English, CTE, etc.) and grade levels (9 12) as needs arise. Because the Building Substitute is a consistent member of the staff, they are expected to build rapport with students and uphold the school's culture and behavioral standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to ensure students remain on track with the curriculum.
- Maintain a safe, productive, and respectful learning environment in accordance with school-wide behavioral policies.
- Report to the main office every morning to receive daily assignments, which may include covering multiple classes or assisting in different departments throughout the day.
- Assist students with assignments, answer questions, and provide academic support in various subject matters.
- Accurately take attendance, collect student work, and provide written feedback to the permanent teacher regarding student progress and behavior.
