Thornridge High School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and student-centered Mathematics Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of math concepts and a proven ability to engage a diverse student population. You will be responsible for fostering a supportive classroom environment, implementing rigorous curricula and helping students develop critical thinking and problem‑solving skills necessary for college and career readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Delivery:
    Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned math lessons (Common Core State Standards) that accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Classroom Management:
    Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and positive classroom culture with clear expectations for student behavior and academic integrity.
  • Assessment & Data Analysis:
    Design and administer formative and summative assessments. Analyze student data to differentiate instruction, address learning gaps, and track academic growth.
  • Technology Integration:
    Utilize educational technology, graphing calculators, and digital learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, MathXL) to enhance instruction.
  • Collaboration:

    Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), departmental meetings, and district-wide professional development to align curriculum and share best practices.
  • Communication:
    Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents, and guidance counselors regarding academic progress and behavioral expectations.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Secondary Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure:
    Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a secondary (9-12) Mathematics endorsement.
  • Skills:

    Strong knowledge of high school mathematics curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to equity and culturally responsive teaching practices.
