About the role

The Wastewater Technician I is an entry level position responsible for safely performing the following fundamental tasks: waste stream sampling, off-loading tanker trucks, waste stream QA/QC, bench testing, and waste stream treat code assignments. The WWT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of liquids management. Specifically, via hose connection/removal, pump function / operation, and valves management along with bench testing, and waste stream treat code assignments.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic chemical analysis such as pH, flash point, FOG, solids, and ammonia.
  • Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Sampling tanker trucks and containers.
  • Connecting the hose and unloading tanker trucks.
  • Use basic oil line and wastewater treatment line operations.
  • Direct and assist with the operation of the sludge transfer and dewatering systems.
  • Submit all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements.
