the role
The Wastewater Technician I is an entry level position responsible for safely performing the following fundamental tasks: waste stream sampling, off-loading tanker trucks, waste stream QA/QC, bench testing, and waste stream treat code assignments. The WWT I is expected to have a general mechanical understanding of liquids management. Specifically, via hose connection/removal, pump function / operation, and valves management along with bench testing, and waste stream treat code assignments.
The hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:30pm.
- Perform basic chemical analysis such as pH, flash point, FOG, solids, and ammonia.
- Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to pressure washers, power tools, hand trucks, forklifts, and other power tools in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Sampling tanker trucks and containers.
- Connecting the hose and unloading tanker trucks.
- Use basic oil line and wastewater treatment line operations.
- Direct and assist with the operation of the sludge transfer and dewatering systems.
- Submit all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements.
- < 1 year of experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Wastewater Technician Certification preferred.
- Ability to kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and twist for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift/carry over 50 pounds
- Ability to pass respirator fit test
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Experience in Net Suite
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
