The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to residents and supervises nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care in compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include planning daily activities, administering medications, documenting care, and maintaining confidentiality. The LPN performs services such as catheterization, wound care, IV care, and coordinates with physicians, ensuring safety and effective communication with residents, families, and staff.
Responsibilities- Perform all functions within your active license related to your duties.
- Provide care based on residents' care plans and physician orders.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered.
- Develop good rapport with staff and residents, creating a warm, calm environment.
- Assist with daily living activities, meals, and social engagement.
- Communicate effectively with clinical leadership about residents' needs.
- Care for residents with dementia appropriately.
- Be willing to take on additional duties within your scope of knowledge and experience.
- Current, unencumbered LPN license.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, laws, and regulations.
- Experience in Long Term Care preferred.
- Willingness to undergo additional training as required by state.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Flexible, organized, and able to handle multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, lift up to 100 lbs, and cope with the emotional stress of the role. Visual and auditory abilities must meet job requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
